Rosary Making Supplies
We've received a few inquiries about beads and components for rosaries, a common interest as Easter approaches. But how can you shop for these items "virtually" when our shop is strictly a "grounded" business? This has been a challenging task, but we've devised a system and may as well see if it works. But please note -- this is a "trust" system. You purchase a category/price range, give us a general description of what you'd like, and trust us to put together a package for you.
First Step
Selecting a crucifix and a center. The crucifixes and centers are listed individually for purchase through the website (see below). We carry these items in sterling, bronze, white bronze and pewter, but not every item is available in each of these materials, and inventory is limited. When you click on the drop-down box you'll see which materials are available, and if we are sold out of an item you will be unable to add it to your cart. The images are not the best and sizes are approximate, but you get the idea.

- 53 Hail Mary beads
- 6 Our Father beads
- spacer beads
- bead caps
Third Step
Selecting Stringing Material. Again, two choices: flexible beading wire with crimp beads, or Griffin beading cord with clamshells. If you're comfortable using the beading wire and crimps, you know who you are. If not, the Griffin cord and clamshells is probably best.

Getting your items
Your items can be mailed to you or picked up curb side. Kim will be at the shop, from 1 - 3 PM every day EXCEPT Tuesdays and Sundays. If that doesn't work for you pop me an e-mail 'cause everything around us seems to be an exception to the rule and I'm sure I'll be there at other times too.

Safety First!
Over the past few months a lot of people have been in the shop, and of course no one knows how many of us may be inadvertent carriers of the COVID-19 virus. Regular customers will not be surprised to learn that we do not regularly sanitize every object here or even dust all that often. Since we can't tell if there's a lingering virus on our merchandise, we're doing what we can. When preparing the kits we cover the table with disinfectant wipes and give strands a little once-over, and the loose beads get a little rolling-around time on the wipes before being put in their bag. It's about the best we can do. While we've heard how long the virus can last on stainless steel, cardboard, and plastic, for some reason we haven't heard about testing of beads or stone. Seems kind of an oversight to us.

Second Step | Beads, Spacers, Bead Caps
Here is "package pricing" where you select your price range and we put together the items that we feel meet your requirements. Please let us know if you are making a rosary for a boy or girl, and any detail that will help in our selection, such as "really dark blue" or "really sparkly pink" or "I really want semi-precious beads but nothing faceted." And if you can't fit all of your thoughts into the notes section, send an e-mail to info@beadinhand.com. This is a really new thing for us, so please be kind.

If you are part of a church group (esp. St. Luke's), the stringing materials are often provided by the group. Otherwise we have two choices: flexible beading wire with crimp beads, or Griffin beading cord with clamshells. If you're comfortable using the beading wire and crimps, you know who you are. If not, the Griffin cord and clamshells is probably best.
