Beaded Embroidery Dreams

I found myself on Pinterest again, this time looking at bead embroidery creations. All because I've had several requests for a class (and yes, three dates in October are on the schedule).

I wanted to find one site to highlight and provide inspiration, but I couldn't narrow it down. All I can do is encourage you to check out bead embroidery on Pinterest. Prepare to be amazed!

Tutorials are available of course, as well as patterns (often in a language other than English, but the photos and diagrams tend to speak for themselves). There really aren't any rules with bead embroidery -- just suggestions. After you play around with it you decide which materials and techniques you are most comfortable using, and sally forth.

Embroidery is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, much the same as quilting and knitting and other hand crafts. Many crafters who enjoy quilting also end up enjoying embroidery and might feel as if they have torn loyalties-which craft to pursue in the small amount of time available for hobbies? The good news is that quilting and embroidery make excellent companions. Crafters who love quilting but are attracted to the depth and color that embroidery stitches offer can follow both their loves by combining the two crafts.
